When you say La Union, what comes to mind is of course the beach, surf, drinks and parties. But as for me, I prefer places where it’s more private, less quiet and not crowded. All of these were ticked off during my stay in a luxury resort. Welcome to the life of tita-hood. LOL.  I’ve been to La Union for several times but and it was my first time to stay in San Fernando area where Thunderbird Resorts and Casinos – Poro Point Freeport Zone is situated. This resort is a 65 hectare Mediterranean-inspired known as the Santorini of Asia designed and created to look similarly as Santorini in Greece. They actually have two resorts in the Philippines, in La Union and the other one is in Binangonan Rizal near to where I live – can’t wait to go and visit. For this entry, I’m sharing with you my staycation experience at Thunderbird Resorts and Casinos – Poro Point.

Thunderbird Resorts and Casinos – Poro Point has 35 deluxe rooms, 29 Ocean Wing deluxe rooms and 4 luxury suites and 60 Santorini-inspired 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom villas. The best part of staying in a 5-star resorts is the topnotch amenities such as pantry with coffee and tea-making facilities, private bathroom complete bath amenities, Wi-Fi Internet access, LED TV and safety box. From the moment we entered the property, we were in love with the Santorini-vibes all over the place! The 2-bedroom villa where my family and I stayed for three days was complete with a living room, dining area and a parking garage. What made the villa even more special was the super cute ig-worthy open sky bathroom and own balcony with a beautiful panoramic view of the golf course surrounded by breathtaking nature. The recreation facilities include a fitness centre, spa, chapel, volleyball court. Among all the amenities, we took advantage of the unlimited access to their infinity pool. Late afternoons were spent to watch the perfect view sunset and relax at the pool area where we usually had the place all to ourselves. My family also loved this playroom located at the North Wing of the hotel which is dedicated for the kids and kids at heart. It is filled with video game console, billiard table and foosball table. And my favourite part is their own private beach for the exclusive use of in-house guests and members. Another favorite from their entertainment option would be their Fiesta Casino where we tried our luck two nights in a row lol.The resort is huge and basically a village by itself with several restaurants and bars inside the compound. Food ranged from Mediterranean and Asian Cuisines to more traditional local Filipino dishes. Our palates were spoiled during our stay thanks to their amazing chefs who cook absolutely delicious dishes from breakfast, lunch, dinner and in between meals with all reasonably priced.Kudos to all the staff at the resort. They were extremely attentive – regularly checking if we needed anything during our whole stay. The room service was excellent. The moment we arrived we immediately ordered food and less than 5 minutes, a knock on the door. Not mention, I also requested for some rose petals which I needed for my #bathtubgoals photo for Instagram. It was granted and immediately delivered to our villa.CHECK OUT THIS TRAVEL DIARY VLOG :
