the East Side of Boracay

March 14, 2019

After months of rehabilitation, one of the best tourist spots in the world, Boracay has finally reopened to the public once again. Last January, I had an opportunity to visit again for the third time to see the new changes and rediscover the beauty of the island. I couldn’t help but get so excited the moment I heard on the news that Boracay was ready to welcome local and foreign tourists. I guess there’s just something about the island that makes me want to keep coming back. Every time I go visit Boracay is just like my first time, it never cease to amaze me!

I tagged along my parents and sister for the trip and booked our stay with Banana Bay Boracay which is located on the east side of Boracay or also known as the “back beach”. It was my first time not having the accommodation in the main island or called as the “white beach” where Station 1, 2 & 3 are located. I think I definitely made a good choice ‘cos I got the chance to see the different side of Boracay. I was pleased to discover that Bulabog Beach has a lot of things to offer after staying at Banana Bay Boracay.

Banana Bay Boracay Resort is one of the newest and trendiest beachfront property situated in Bulabog district ~ the kite boarding capital of Boracay.  If you think that the resort is only for kite surfers or water sports enthusiasts, let me tell you that there are plenty of reasons to book your stay here. So here you go, I listed top things I love most about Banana Bay Boracay.

Accommodation / Rooms  / Beautiful Balcony

Banana Bay Boracay features 42 modern rooms and suites fully equipped with beautiful and modern amenities. All accommodations are complete with air conditioning, Wi-Fi access, flat screen HD TV, minibar, wardrobe, hair blower and a hot & cold shower. We stayed in one of their Premier Deluxe rooms located at the third floor for three days and two nights. The room was clean & fresh, spacious and has a sleek and minimalist interior design. We also had a good sleeping experience all throughout our stay thanks to their very comfy and heavenly king-size beds. One of the first things I noticed when I stepped inside our room was the huge sliding door leading to a beautiful balcony. It was such an easy access to feel the fresh breeze of the serene sea, to see the spectacular view of the resort property, to watch flying kite boards and simply enjoy panoramic scenery of the island.

Whenever I enter a new accommodation, I normally check the bathroom first ‘cos I wanted to see it it’s instagrammable or not. lol.
First impression, it was really clean, cozy and smells fresh. The bathtub area is so dreamy and very ig worthy! I love the flat-screen TV which you can rotate 360 degree angle from the bedroom area to the bathroom if you prefer to watch while taking a shower or dipping in the tub. And of course
the bathroom is complete with free toiletries from bath to grooming essentials.

I’ve been to some beautiful resorts in the country but not all of them are worth remembering due to unsatisfactory customer service. For me, customer service has a huge impact for the overall experience. In Banana Bay Boracay, I experienced amazing hospitality. Receptionists, waiters, room attendants are all friendly and accommodating from the moment we stepped into the resort until the time we checked out. The resort manager, Sid was also very kind and helpful. He toured us around Bulabog Beach since it was our first time there. We also asked his help for directions and during our first night he even walked with us from the resort to D’Mall despite having no intention of going in the same direction.

Banana bay Boracay has their own restaurant called The Monkey Tree Restaurant. It serves a well curated menu with delicious Filipino and International cuisine. Our accommodation comes with a free complimentary breakfast. The best part while enjoying a meal was the picturesque view plus the beautiful surroundings with an excellent vantage points of Bulabog Beach life.

We certainly enjoyed a fun and peaceful vacation as well as helping the nature – how satisfying could that be? Hands down to the resort’s commitment to protect the Mother Earth. They inspire us guests by making a difference and caring for the environment through patronising local suppliers, reducing plastic use and supporting carbon-free activities. Also this beach front resort features a salt-chlorinated + 100% chemical-free swimming pool for more safe and comfy swimming experience.

Banana bay Boracay is within an 11-minute walk of the D’Mall Boracay, Station 3, 10 minute tricycle ride to Puma Shell Beach and 4 km of Willy’s Rock.  Caticlan Jetty Port is 8 km from the resort and Bulabog Beach is an 18-minute walk away. It is a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the White Beach so expect that the location is more quiet and less crowded. Indeed we got a peaceful sense of privacy all throughout our stay.
